Process Overview
Applicant must gather documents listed below to take to an Acceptance
Agent.
An Acceptance Agent is a government employee who will verify
the identity of the applicant.
Acceptance agents are at designated Post Offices and Court
Houses. Click
here to find a convenient Acceptance Agent location.
Applicant must indicate that he/she is using an expediting
service to "hand carry" the passport application
to the passport agency for processing. The Acceptance Agent will
have the applicant sign the application and seal all documents
in an envelope and return the sealed envelope to applicant.
Sealed envelope is forwarded to BPS for processing.
