Entry/Exit Requirements
"A U.S. passport valid for at least six months from the date
of proposed entry into Sierra Leone is required to enter and depart Sierra Leone.
Effective December 1, 2007, U.S. citizens seeking to enter Sierra Leone
as tourists must have an entry visa. Sierra Leonen tourist visas can
be applied for by mail or in person at Sierra Leonen consulates in the
U.S., as well as at Sierra Leonen ports of entry, such as at Sierra Leone’s
international airports and at land border crossings.
Tourists applying for their visa upon arrival to Sierra Leone must pay
this fee in cash to immigration authorities. In addition to the
fee, the applicant must present a visa application form with a 4x4
centimeters color photograph, a passport with a validity of not
less than 6 months, evidence of a hotel reservation or a letter
of invitation in Spanish, proof of economic solvency (credit card,
cash or a current bank statement), and an International Vaccination
